Why Individuality Should Be the Featured Quality of Your Brand

Every day all around us we see people who stand out. The rad chick with the purple hair at the local coffee shop. The guy at the gym with colorful tattoos covering his body. The company in your community who is focused on old fashioned relationships with stellar customer service. Or the girl who loves black and white photography and red umbrellas {wink wink}.

So what do purple hair, tattoos, stellar customer service and red umbrellas have in common? Individuality and the desire to stand out.

See the foundational element of branding and pursuing your passion is understanding what makes you, you. What brings you joy. Clarity. Focus. What sets your soul on fire.

If discovering the deepest depths of your being is a struggle, I get it. I have been there. I used to care way too much about what other people thought of me. At one point in my life, I completely lost the real me. I found myself jealous of how others could so confidently and effortlessly just be who they are. I woke up one day and realized that I had to release judgement and stop living in a prison of opinions. I had to learn to love myself again.

How did I find my purpose? I had to dig deep, ask myself tough questions, allow myself to be vulnerable to find my inner truth and define what makes me the person I am. I had to embrace my strengths and my weaknesses.

Journaling is a great first step to reconnecting with yourself and your passions. Spend time every day celebrating who you are. Recognizing your strengths. Your gifts and talents. If you find this exercise difficult enlist your friends and family. Ask them to share what qualities they most admire about you and why.

Branding isn’t just about a fancy logo, design colors, imagery or how many times you post on social media. It’s about embracing who you are and releasing all judgement from others to be your authentic self. When you love yourself more, others will too. Its the foundation of building #TheBrandOfYou.

Would love to hear how you are using your individual qualities and talents to stand out from the crowd and grow a more authentic brand. Leave me a comment below and let's celebrate your uniqueness together xo
